What's in A Name?

We had a very successful two weeks working on our names. We learned to identify the letter our names start with, how to pick our name out on the bulletin board, and even what some of our friends names look like. This is a skill we will continue to work on througout the rest of the year. We hope you enjoyed the name plates the kids made. We think they came out really cute!

In Gym we are working on balance beam skills. Everyone took turns with the 3 smaller beams, and some brave souls even tried the regular beam with Mrs. Smith. It was very exciting. In music we continue to use rhythym sticks, and gain an appreciation for classical as well as fun pieces of music. There is always the added bonus of a chocolate treat from Misel, our dor L'dor volunteer.

Now we will begin a 2 week unit on the holiday of Purim. This is a fun and noisy time of year in our room. By the end of the week, the children should be able to tell you a bit about the Purim story- so ask them- I'll be interested to hear their version!

Today the kids took part in an assembly to welcome Mr. Peter Cline, the new Head of School. They may not have not known what it was all about, but they were a great audience! Have a great week and hopefully all of our snow days are behind us!
