Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a wonderful break, a great New Year and a fun snow day. It's good to be back and everyone got right back into the routine.

On Monday we will begin our unit on colors. Each week for the next 7 weeks we will concentrate on a different color. During the week we will do art in that color, read stories involving that color, use playdough in the color, eat snacks in the color, etc. I will ask that on Wednesday of each week, you dress your child in the color of the week. This really reinforces their knowledge of colors, and you'll see them starting to recognize and name colors more readily (for those who don't do it already).

Here is our schedule:

Week of January 7th: RED
Week of January 14th:BLUE
Week of January 21st:GREEN
Week of January 28th:YELLOW
Week of February 5th: ORANGE
Week of February 12th:PURPLE
Week of February 19th: BLACK and WHITE

Just an update on something you all may not know. The Friday before break was the last day in our class for Leah Jacobson. Leah's parents made the difficult decision to return her to her old daycare where they had full day care to better accomdate their full day work schedule and older brother Sam's school schedule. We hope she will return to Yavneh next year for the 3 year olds.
